Cordova-based electrical contractor and top Cummins dealer to provide mission-critical backup power for the nation’s largest home service plan provider
CORDOVA, TN, UNITED STATES, September 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Benchmark Electric, LLC, a Cordova, Tennessee-based electrical contractor and one of the top-selling Cummins Power Generation dealers in North America, today announced it has been awarded a contract by Frontdoor, Inc., the nation’s largest provider of home service plans, to design and install a 500-kilowatt Cummins diesel generator at Frontdoor’s national headquarters building in Germantown, Tennessee.
Frontdoor, whose brands connect more than two-million-member households nationwide with home warranty coverage and repair services, sought a standby power solution capable of keeping its headquarters fully operational through any utility outage. The Cummins 500kW diesel generator, engineered and installed by Benchmark Electric’s team, is designed to detect a loss of utility power and restore building-wide electrical service within seconds — protecting IT infrastructure, phone systems, and the day-to-day operations that Frontdoor’s national dispatch network depends on.
“Frontdoor cannot afford downtime — when a member’s home has an emergency, their team has to be reachable, period,” said David Richey, President of Benchmark Electric. “This installation gives their building the same grade of standby power that we build for hospitals and emergency responders. When the grid goes down, it will be business as usual inside that building.”
The project reflects a broader storm-season push by Benchmark Electric to deliver turnkey commercial & industrial backup power installations for organizations throughout the Mid-South that cannot tolerate interrupted operations, including property management firms, regional airports, and pharmaceutical distributors. As severe weather becomes more frequent across West Tennessee, demand for standby power at commercial and mission-critical facilities has grown steadily.
Founded in 2004, Benchmark Electric has built its reputation on delivering reliable, code-compliant standby power systems backed by Cummins Power Generation, a brand trusted by hospitals, emergency responders, military installations, and Fortune 500 companies across the country. The Frontdoor installation adds to a growing portfolio of mission-critical generator projects the company has completed throughout the Memphis metro area.
Benchmark Electric offers free on-site consultations to Mid-South businesses looking to evaluate their own backup power needs ahead of peak storm season.
