BitGo Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BTGO) (“BitGo” or the “Company”), the digital asset infrastructure company, today announced the appointment of Greg Cipolaro as Head of Research, alongside the launch of BitGo Research, a new function dedicated to providing clients with data-driven analysis of digital asset markets, market structure, and emerging trends across the industry.
Mr. Cipolaro joins BitGo following the Company’s recent acquisition of NYDIG’s institutional trading business, where he served as Global Head of Research. In that role, he built and led a research franchise recognized for its coverage of bitcoin and digital asset markets, publishing regular market commentary and analysis relied upon by institutional investors, allocators, and corporates navigating the asset class.
BitGo Research will produce ongoing market commentary, thematic reports, and data-driven analysis for BitGo’s institutional client base, drawing on the Company’s position at the center of custody, trading, financing, and settlement activity across the digital asset ecosystem. The function is expected to serve as a resource for clients seeking to understand market structure, macro trends, and the digital asset landscape.
“Greg is a widely respected voice in digital asset research, and bringing his expertise in-house allows us to offer clients an even deeper level of market insight,” said Mike Belshe, CEO and Co-founder of BitGo.
“BitGo sits at the intersection of custody, trading, and financing for some of the largest institutional participants in this market, which gives BitGo Research a vantage point that’s hard to replicate,” said Mr. Cipolaro. “I’m excited to build on the work we started at NYDIG and deliver research aimed to help clients make sense of a market that continues to evolve quickly.”
“Greg’s research was a core part of what made our institutional trading franchise valuable to clients,” said Pete Janney, Head of Financial Infrastructure at BitGo. “Having him continue that work at BitGo, now backed by a broader platform and client base, is consistent with the strategic rationale behind this acquisition.”
