BRYAN, TX, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Payne Law Group is proud to announce that it has secured a $35 million settlement on behalf of the family of a contractor who was killed in a 2023 explosion at the Oak Grove Power Plant in Robertson County, Texas. The settlement resolves wrongful death and related claims against multiple defendants following nearly three years of litigation.
According to the lawsuit (Cause No. 24-11-21964-CV), the contractor was performing work related to the startup and commissioning of an auxiliary boiler on May 31, 2023, when an explosion occurred at the facility. He sustained fatal injuries as a result of the incident. The lawsuit alleged that multiple companies involved in the project failed to implement appropriate safety procedures, provide accurate information and maintain safe working conditions before startup operations.
The settlement follows extensive discovery, expert analysis and multiple mediation sessions. Under the agreement, the settling defendants resolved the claims without admitting liability.
